i-Cat CT Scanner
Forsyth Periodontal Associates takes advantage of an i-CAT Conebeam CT scanner (CBCT) in our office. The i-CAT provides a three-dimensional depiction of your jaws, which allows the doctors to develop precise treatment plans and select the most appropriate treatment for you to restore your esthetics and function. This technology represents the gold standard in dental implant treatment planning.
The scan is done right in the office, takes about 30 seconds, and is significantly less radiation than a medical CT scan. The 3D scanner allows us to choose the field of view, or scanning area, that best suits your specific treatment needs and enables us to perform a wider range of diagnoses and treatments in our office, helping to reduce multiple visits.
In addition to treatment planning for dental implants, the i-CAT can be used to identify dental pathology, TMJ deformities, and sinus infections, among many other uses. Dr. Suttle or Dr. Pierce can use this innovative technology to quickly and easily share 3D images of the area of concern with your referring doctor – allowing the doctors to collaborate on your care, improving your experience and delivering excellent results.
